Background
She is from the province of Capiz in Central Philippines, a whole day from Manila by sea. She is 26 years old and single. Her father is a fisherman. She is 2nd of 4 children. She did 1½ years of a 2-year post-secondary computer science course but was unable to complete it for financial reason.

Employment History
Eralyn has worked as a domestic helper for 4½ years, two years in Singapore and the rest of the time in the Philippines.

1. Her first job in Manila lasted for 7 months because she had to go home when her father was sick. It turned out that he was not really sick, but simply wanted her to go home. He was worried about her.

   The work was relatively easy. Her main duty was to take care of a 2-year girl. She fed her, bathed her, played with her, tell her stories or read to her. The child was very attached to her and cried and pleaded with her to stay.

2. After Manila she stayed home for one whole year before venturing out again this time to Laguna about two hours from Manila. This time she worked for close to two years because this time her father did not get sick. Her duties were care of 3 children aged 5, 8 and 12. Madam was working. Besides taking care of the children, Eralyn also did the cooking, cleaning, laundry and, sometimes, marketing too when Madam was busy.

   She worked at this position until she was offered a job in Singapore.

3. In Singapore she has been with a local family of Indian descent. She is one of three domestic helpers and her job was cleaning, cleaning and cleaning. Cooking and other chores were the responsibility of others. However, as she wanted to learn, she volunteered to helped the cook in preparing the ingredients and serve the food when it is done.

Childcare
In the two jobs in the Philippines, she took care of 4 children the youngest of whom was 2 years old. The oldest among them was 12 years old. Eralyn is very fond of children and enjoyed working with little ones, because they are very sweet. She enjoys reading to children or telling them stories.

Cooking
The only situation where she was required to cook was in position 2 above. Then she was the only helper there and Madam was working. She would like to learn to cook Singapore food and hopes her next employer would teach her to cook.

Personality
Eralyn is personable and easy to get along with, being cheerful and able to provide information effortlessly. She speaks and understands English quite well.
